Jharkhand: A vehicle overturns on an autorickshaw, killing three schoolchildren and the driver
Police said they are ascertaining how come the school was opened when the School Education and Literacy Department had ordered to keep all the schools closed till January 13 in view of the cold wave

In Jharkhand's Gola, around 35 kilometers from the district headquarters of Ramgarh, a truck loaded with potatoes overturned on an autorickshaw carrying schoolchildren, resulting in the deaths of three schoolchildren and a driver and the injuries of more than six youngsters.
According to a police officer with knowledge of the situation, the autorickshaw was crossing the highway close to Tirla Chowk at approximately 8.30 am when the accident occurred.
When the autorickshaw carrying children was crossing the highway (NH-33) at the Damodar Hotel near Tirla Chowk, which is located under the Gola police station area, it was struck by the truck transporting potatoes. The driver and three schoolchildren were killed as a result. Children who have been hurt are being transported to Ramgarh Sadar Hospital for medical care. The police stated that they were in route to Goodwill Mission School.
District superintendent of police (SP) Ajay Kumar said, The reason behind the accident is being ascertained.”
Asked how come the school was opened when the School Education and Literacy Department had ordered to keep all the schools closed till January 13 in view of the cold wave and cold, the SP said: “That is being ascertained.”
